Fighting Fires

A few weeks ago we decided to check out Kid's Day at the fire station in Burien. Odin was super excited to practice escaping from the simulated burning house and to squirt a fire house. It should be no surprise that he wants to be a firefighter for Halloween, again.

Odin loved talking to the paramedics in the ambulance

Check out this cool Airport Fire Truck!

A few days later, Odin wanted to tell me all about Fire Safety and draw a picture of "lots of fire and smoke!" Here's what his poster says:

"If there is a fire, just stop, drop, and roll. If there is too much smoke, just do this. (He dropped to the ground while narrating.) You do crawling on the ground. Do not go back in. And if your toys are on fire, walk outside, drop to the floor, and roll. Firefighters can only go back inside. And policeman. You need to call 9-1-1 when there is a fire. If your doorknob is so hot, then you go out the window."

Yes, we taught him how to dial 9-1-1. We'll see if he can remember how if he's even put in that (unlikely) position as a little guy.
